Gatavojoties vasaras sezonai Garezers (ASV) ir sasaucis COVID-19 komandu
  • 15. Mar. 2020

Dear members of the Garezers community,
Like all of you, we have been closely following the reports on COVID-19 and how the disease will impact our families, ourselves, and our broader communities, including Garezers. The situation is unprecedented, and continues to evolve at a breakneck pace. There are so many questions, and no one has all the answers. This letter is to inform you of the steps we have taken at Garezers as we continue to prepare for our summer season, while at the same time taking into consideration the progression of COVID-19.
Garezers has established a COVID-19 task force which will be reviewing developments daily. This dedicated team began its work on the morning of March 14, 2020, and will continue to meet regularly for the foreseeable future. The decision and commitment to form this team was reinforced by the recently issued general guidelines by the American Camp Association. These guidelines are invaluable in helping address our preparedness with this new normal in our lives.
Every camp and retreat center in America, including Garezers, has challenges which we continually strive to address as we plan our programs. Please be assured that Garezers’ priorities have not changed. The health and well-being of all our program participants, staff and guests is our highest priority. To that end, this team will continue to utilize every available resource as we prioritize our tasks in light of COVID-19.
In the course of our first meeting we discussed the initial tasks to be addressed immediately, to minimize the risk to all of our community, participants, staff and guests and those include, but are not limited to the following:

Evaluate and revise as necessary our current health guidelines in light of COVID-19.
Evaluate our guest and visitor policies.
Evaluate and revise as necessary our cleaning protocols, including daily sanitization procedures of maintenance staff and personal hygiene requirements.

We would also like to remind everyone that our community lives across the country and as a result of the COVID-19 protocols, emergency declarations differ from state to state and are constantly evolving, in some cities, hour by hour. As the weeks proceed, we will be aligning our decisions with the regulations established by the federal government, CDC, the State of Michigan, St.Joseph County Health Department and other local authorities, and the American Camp Association.

We will continue to share information on the Garezers website, www.garezers.org, and by other means as deemed to be necessary. The greatest asset of Garezers is our close-knit community. Please take care of yourselves, your loved ones and your neighbors in the days ahead.
